My head is spinning. I don't know where to begin. I doubt I'll be able to express with words how much you have meant to me over the past two years. I'll admit, there were days when I thought you turned my world upside down after we found out we were having you, but it didn't take long for me to realize that you really just turned my world right-side up. You have been the single best thing that I have ever been blessed with. I often wonder why God smiled upon me and gave me you, and I get choked up when I dwell upon how unworthy I am to have such a blessing as you. Your Daddy and I pray often that God will give us the wisdom to raise you the way He would have us to because we see your potential. I hope you grow up to see what we see inside of you, but most of all I hope you see yourself the way God sees you. Because I know, as much as we love you, He loves you more! It's often hard to believe it's possible for someone to love you more, but having you has taught me just how much God loves each one of his children. I doubt you'll ever fully understand the depth of it until you have children of your own, but I pray you never doubt that you are truly loved.
We decided to celebrate this past weekend with you, just our little family, before the big celebration this coming Saturday. Because as much as I love to celebrate your life with all of our family, I love the time we share with just us three.
We took you to Kanga Zoom where your bounced your little self silly.
But even though you enjoyed bouncing and sliding, you couldn't resist their trains!
We took you to Toys 'R Us to pick out a wooden train set so that you don't have to simply walk in circles around the table for hours with your trains.
And we took you to Brain Freeze to get a special birthday helping of frozen yogurt. You loved it so much (and so did we) that we took you back the next night for seconds!
The weekend wore you out (it wore us all out!) and you didn't wake up until 11:00 this morning! I opened your door and sang "Happy Birthday," to which you shook your little bottom. ;) And your bed head put a smile on my face.
Since it was your special day, I made you a fluffernutter sandwich (peanut butter and marshmallow fluff), which you thoroughly enjoyed.
But not as much as you enjoyed your dinner. Pizza. Your favorite meal. Outside. Your favorite place.
Followed by birthday cookie cake...a rare treat for you that you literally stuffed in your mouth.
We enjoyed celebrating you this past weekend and we can hardly wait to celebrate with the rest of the family this weekend. I hope you felt special and loved today.
I love you to little baby pieces, Brody! Happy 2nd Birthday, Big Boy!!!
